AIl was a great weekend alone because of New York DJ legend D Nice set of the Sunday Smooth groves for us to stay at home. Living so far away from my hometown of New York and my second hometown Paris it has gotten lonely.
The Hottest Parties in Town Are Now Online
As many are quarantining or socially distancing themselves to curb the spread of the coronavirus, the party has moved to social media.
DJ D Nice played classic R&B tunes like a Sunday night party. He called the party Homeschool, and everyone from the music industry joined in. We hope he hists one million followers by the time this is all over.
He was playing music you wished you had someone to dance with, songs that reminded you of your Auntie's. What was great was when an artist joined, he shouted them out and played one of their songs.
They Call Him D Nice
Hey must DJ, please continue the live music. DJ D Nice made me miss home in a way I never thought I would. It reminds me of the night I snuck out my grandma's house to go to a club downtown Manhattan.
On Friday night, there was one place in the country where you could take part in a social gathering and not be afraid of spreading or contracting the coronavirus.
Over 4,000 people were in attendance, including headliners like Jennifer Lopez, Drake, Naomi Campbell, Diddy, Mary J. Blige, DJ Khaled, T.I., Queen Latifah and Tracee Ellis Ross.
There was no charge at the door, no security, no drink minimum, and you could attend in your pyjamas from the comfort of your own home. The party, named Homeschoolin’, is easy to find: It was on D.J. D-Nice’s Instagram live.
