Virgil Abloh’s Pop Smoke CoverThe Streets Are Talking

Pop Smoke‘s label is going back to the drawing board after the artwork for his posthumous album, designed by Virgil Abloh, was met with a lot of fan backlash. When the cover image was unveiled last night, many fans took to Twitter to dub the designer’s work “disrespectful.”

In response, Steven Victor — head of Pop’s label, Victor Victor Worldwide — tweeted that Pop would have listened to his fans, so they are “MAKING A CHANGE. B R B. H E A R D Y O U.” He also took to Instagram to explain the label’s response in more detail.

He ended his message “see you July 3rd 2020,” a clear indicator that the album is still expected to arrive on Friday. Take a look for yourself of Abloh’s design and keep scrolling to see how fans reacted with commentary backlash.  Pop must be rolling in his grave.  What do you think?

That is why we love Twitter still.
