The idea of the nights drawing in, leaves falling and colder weather always splits opinion. For some it’s a nightmare, forsome it’s comforting. But there’s one thing we all tend to agree on – we love the fall clothes.

An essential: the winter coat

It’s the coats. Always. Especially because half the time the coat covers 80% of the outfit, it’s what you have to rely on. From caramel trenches to fabulous faux-fur. They range in all shapes, styles and colors. There really is one for everyone. For me, I always appreciate the blazer-like styles and always in black, however there’s nothing like walking along in the drab winter months and seeing a girl bopping along in a furry neon number.

Speaking of colors, who says autumnal tones need to replicate the earth? Why not add a neon pop, God knows half of us need cheering up in the colder months. However, if you are like me and like to stick to the darker tones (all year round, baby), you can easily build an outfit up out of black and burgundy. Maybe even some dark greens if you feel crazy.

Sweater Weather

We cannot talk about fall fashion without talking about the beloved sweater. The best ones are from thrift stores and were absolutely owned by someone’s Granddad. These versatile pieces can be dressed up or down, belt them, tuck them, hell – even crop them! For most a baggy sweater or two are staples to the winter wardrobe, why not be comfy and stylish at the same time?

These boots were made for walking

To top it all off, we must mention the humble boot.  We all know the winter boot; it just finishes an outfit off oh-so-perfectly. Could be a chunky boot, could be sporting a heel, either way it screams ‘fall in the city’. A winter look wouldn’t be complete without a pair, or two, or three.
